Amarisen Gream wrote:More feedback!
Pros - 1: I love it - after adding accounts (says that it is insecure), launching and quitting have been flawless. 2: Access to the other servers (haven't yet launched them, but will test later with more details)
Cons - 1: Information in the window is bunched up. Default window size needs to be bigger - or just to much info long the bottom. 2: Importing settings - needs to be looked at for importing cloned clients.
be back later for with info. The launcher still needs quite a bit of polish - I preferred getting it out there quickly to get feedback.
I'll see what I can do to discover clones and their settings, that's a good point.

Please file a bug report, attaching logs from the launcher. You should find them at ~/Library/Application Support/CCP/EVE/Launcher.
Mention my name in the description so it gets routed to me right away.

I found the missing files - hit refresh from the view menu to get those pesky files that were preventing the TQ client from starting up.
I will add safeguards to prevent this issue from happening again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Manssell wrote:So needed to get on Sisi and it seems the new launcher is the only way to do that now (old one incompatible). Fine, I'll try it.
First thing the new launcher prompted me to import my setting BUT the file selection process is confusing since some of file names I got are not anything I could recognize and some seemed missing. So I brought up me old browser to search for what was happing and that action seems to close the import settings window for good. I could not find anyway to tell the launcher to import settings so after finally having to get on Sis all my Sisi settings are gone. Fine, whatever it's Sisi. But now I suspect all my TQ settings are gone too (I still haven't logged in to TQ just in case). If this is the case CCP I'm gonna be really mad this time!
Unless you can import settings anytime the whole import settings dialog box and procedure needs to change. You can open the Client Settings dialog at any time from the drop down menu under the E logo.
The new launcher does not delete any settings - the client is run from a different location and so gets a different settings folder when run from the new launcher.
I'll need to do another pass on this dialog to make it more intuitive, but the names on the left hand side when you have 'Migrate old clients' selected corresponds to install locations for your old Eve clients.

Me too .. and with a 26 digit anphanumeric ..thats a PiTa .. THe Windows version supports copy paste The paste issue is a known bug in Qt 5.5 and should be fixed 5.6, which will be available in a couple of weeks. So please bear with me - as soon as Qt releases the fix I will update the launcher.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Wormhole chain scanning is more difficult, and looking at kitten pics posted into local while fighting... Well... Is there a workaround of any type?
Just love the new launcher though.
Thanks- Close. The browser is on my radar, but can't promise when I'll have it fixed. Kitten pics are important, though...

I'm talking about the one that pops up when downloading the new Launcher, flat blue background. I'll look into that, thanks for the suggestion.

Vincent Athena wrote:Rowells wrote:is anyone else experiencing trouble getting more than two clients running? I've been trying to get my third one up and running but get only black screen. I can get three running. But I did find that a short pause between launching clients can cause one or more to black screen. If I log in each client and wait until I see an in-game scene before launching the next, then it works. We've been investigating the cause of this and have some theories. We'll hopefully have a fix soon. For now, the best workaround is indeed a longer pause.

Amarisen Gream wrote:Therem Harth wrote:Adding my voice to the list of people with IGB woes. With the "standard" launcher all is well. With the Beta launcher (current version as of the post timestamp), IGB doesn't work (doesn't load any sites, just a black window) and trying to close it locks the whole client. Latest Yosemite on a MBP Retina. So I made the mistake the other day on clicking a link in-game and I was like ****, but found out if you just minimize the IGB, it won't crash you client (right away). Though I did go do something in my alt, log off or something. Can't remember and then my IGB locked up my main client. I'm working on a fix for the IGB issue on Mac - hoping to release it on Monday.

The in-game browser should work properly in clients launched from the beta launcher as of version 988834 of the launcher.

Bieker Udan wrote:I've been trying unsuccessfully to get the beta launcher to work with the production client on Yosemite 10.10.5.
When it starts it throws a popup with the error "An error was encountered while downloading (see log for details). Do you want to run network diagnostics? ( Ignore | Retry | Yes ) "
The relevant entries in the log file seem to be
09:43:29.523 debugFinished task "Cider version downloader for Tranquility" 09:43:29.523 error"SSL handshake failed" 09:43:29.523 warningUpdate failed for "Tranquility" with error: 2
If I "Ignore" the launcher starts, but shows a message at the bottom that says "Cider version info not available 0.0%" and then is not able to launch the game.
Is the beta launcher supposed to work with the production client?
For some reason https connections seem to be failing. Can you file a bug report, attaching the full launcher log? Mention my name in the title so it gets sent my way.

The IGB was working on Monday but it's now once again broken as of yesterday. Bug report EBR-59534 ^ This. What the hell. I'm confused as well. There was an issue with the beta launcher and the IGB - I fixed that and released on Monday. Then it seems the update of the client on Tuesday broke the IGB in a different way. I'm pretty sure that issue was fixed in today's patch.
Please try again, and sorry for the confusion.

Problem persists here after update. Beta Launcher - 988834 EVE - 990371
Will try the non-beta stuff and report back
Can you try one thing for me (if you're not afraid to get a bit technical)?
Make sure the launcher is not running.
In Finder, go to ~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache.
You should see a folder named cider-EveOnlinePremium-iso-010805-nodata-skel - delete that folder. Don't worry, settings are not stored in there.
Now restart the launcher and try starting up a client and see if the browser works.
I appreciate your help in trying to sort this out - it's frustrating when things work on my machine but not out in the field.

Rowells wrote:I keep having a lot of trouble with logging in multiple clients. With and without the multilaunch. It's always a partial load and then black screen, sometimes have to force quit the client. The hard part is its not always standard. Logging in two or three it changes how man I can do, though havent gotten to four yet (I have done it before). Can you start four clients if you do it one by one, waiting for the character selection screen to show up before starting the next?
I'm not suggesting that as a solution, but as a way to help us pin down the problem (and a possible workaround until we fix the issue).
